- A minimum amount of space will be left between the Logo and any other object such as type, other logos, borders, edges, and so on. The required border of space around the logo will be at least a quarter of an inch.
- The logo will be used as provided will always read horizontally on whatever medium it is placed. The original aspect ratio of the logo will remain intact. When resizing the logo, the aspect ratio will be locked so the type is neither condensed nor extended.

- Although blue or yellow usages of the Idaho logo are preferred, one-color 100% black usages have been designed for media and budgetary restrictions. It is acceptable, but not preferred, to reproduce the logo on an appropriate light-colored or dark-colored background, where the logo stands out from the background as it does on a white background.
- The PANTONE 288 (blue) or black logo should appear on a light background. The PANTONE 116 (yellow) logo should appear on a dark background. When using a dark or black background, the logo should always be reversed or the Pantone 116 should be used.
